Need a backsplash that will add design to this kitchen

    What do you mean by "add design"? Not seeing much of your counter, which is the big determinant, but you might do well with a creamy subway tile that would add some lightness, and then you could change from brick pattern to, say, herringbone over the stove if you want a little more action there...
