I did it all by myself logging many, MANY hours on Houzz/HGTV/design sites for inspiration. The cabinet company helped me lay out the kitchen/bathrooms though. It was an amazing project, but I'm not sure I slept for five months. I'd say my biggest word of advice is to go with your gut--I'd say what spoke to me first is what we usually ended up with. It was also really handy to google images of paint colors, tile, etc. to see if anyone used in a reno.

And by myself, I mean the design. We did have a contractor :) We used J. Russell Construction--a Cleveland/Akron Ohio based firm. They were wonderful.
