Hi Lisa. I'm not sure where you would put side tables, although a narrow coffee table might be a good idea. This one is rather fun.

A rug, you definitely need. (I'm in Joburg too, so I've sourced all this stuff locally here.) Three neutrals with pattern, but if you fancy introducing colour, I suggest something like the last one.

You also need a conduit of some kind to hide those tv wires, and a small square table to anchor it and hold the bits and pieces. A simple black cube table would work.

The sofa seems a little large for the space, can you switch things up with another room and maybe put 2 small chairs and a coffee table in there?

The sectional definitely makes that space feel smaller than it is. You won't be able to fit side tables, and a coffee table might even be too large for circulation. You should look for drink tables -usually shaped like brackets- that are small and slide into the couch so they won't take up space. A great corner cabinet would be perfect under the tv for storage and hiding the cords. Adding color with cushions and a rug will look fantastic!

@Rina...wow so glad that you are able to help me out and also you being locally based makes it great !

The rug for sure I do need and these are great and I love this better

We will deft get a conduit to cover the wires am in search of a nice table

I agree, Lisa. I think that rug looks as though it was made for you. Contrasts with the softness and colour of the sofa and picks up the geometrics of the mirrors in a really original way.

@Angel 18432 yeah the sofa is a bit large but my partner loves it to bits and the comfortableness as well so I need to work wit it in this room to which its what am trying to do and you are so very right takes up a lot of space and makes the smaller place look even more smaller

@Ana Gonzalez I love the drink tables options and deft we are looking into a smaller TV cabinet - cushions colours what do you propose I go for as the house is quite white lol

In a room like yours with lots of great light and windows, I like to bring in colors in from the outdoors. Blue is great because your pool is such a feature in your yard. The "deep lake" color rug that @Rina posted is really beautiful. Or maybe a pop of bright green. It's pretty easy to find artwork and pillows in these colors and they aren't as loud as a red or orange.

Lisa, totally understand your guy needs comfort - which over-takes style.

Here's a couple of pillows - may not be able to get them where you are, but just to give you ideas as your room does need some colour. I think i would shorten the drapes and not have them puddling. Will make the room look a bit cleaner.

Also I would drop your 2 pictures down at least a couple of inches.

You may not need to shorten the curtains if you raise the rods to the ceiling. I would eliminate the art behind the sofa; it feels squished.

These are the kind of tables you need:

They're usually called C-tables and slide under the couch so they take up virtually no space.

@ groveraxle these tables are ideal for this space and will check if we have them in South Africa; The art behind the SOFA its mirrors as I thought the walls were just too plain but I see what you have done with the photoshop and really love the drapes from the ceiling and rug as well

Ah Grover, you should have popped in for coffee while you were here! You've been doing splendid work on Lisa's room, as always.

@Grover axle this is just amazing and I love the colour as well just makes the room so warm wow thank you kindly.... the sofa tables I will deft check these out and also saw some nice ones at a shop called red apple.

will post here just so you can assist with opinion if those are what I can go with.

if I want to do more of a glam look should I be going with glass n silver? Hence the idea of those mirrors(hides face) in my head I wanted to make it in a glam type of lounge lol

am loving the suggestions here as well

Another question.... should anything be going on the other side of wall where Tv is?currently there is just one small lantern on the floor ( miss placed I know)

Real glam is going to be hard to pull off here with the contemporary sectional, wood doors, and huge TV on the corner. Glass and silver will move you in that direction, but I don't think it will be a totally successful look in this room.

I like the Eileen Gray table--it's classic--the media stand not so much. It's a little too much like something from the 70s and will show all your components and connections. In fact, I think you should lower the TV, both for comfort and so you have less wire to conceal.

If this were my room, I'd probably go earthy and natural.

Here are a couple more rugs from Red Apple and a very cool cabinet from Weylandts. I'd go very bold on the pillows.

Here is an interesting idea you could try for your small lounge from a design of ours. You could try doing smaller coffee tables and a nice patterned rug.
