Nancy, Good luck with it. It may develop a little green in it and continue to live on it's own. I think Tiffany got one she calls yellbeano or some thing. Her's is getting quite large now.

How cool, that looks so similar to mine! I'm so sorry to report that my yelbino "yella fella" passed away recently. The other pups & the mama leaf still look good, pups are growing, but yella fella just started turning brown suddenly & shriveled away quickly afterward. I hope yours ends up being self-sufficient!

Tiffany, Very sorry to hear that. I was hoping yours had a chance since it did show two shades of yellow in it. Hoping one had slight green in it to give it food. I lost mine since the rooted leaf died. It was fun hoping and watching.

Hi akrrm! My yellow pup is experiencing the same backward arching behaviour as yours! But it seems to correct itself the last few days, growing wider and wider.

Hope you have more luck than me. Mine did the same until the rooted leaf started to die. Still, I enjoyed it while it lasted.

With rooted cuttings, is the rooted leaf supposed to die off eventually? Or do people remove it at some stage, such as when the new pups are a certain size?

Also, what time of the year / what season do pups normally appear? Just in spring or anytime? Thanks

Since we grow them in our house and outside during summer, they pup and bloom anytime they wish to. Also never remove this yellow pup from the rooted leaf because you hope it can produce enough green so it can stay alive. So far this plant is getting all it's nutrients from the rooted leaf.

Robin, I haven't removed any cuttings from new growth. One got pushed out of the pot and separated so I put it in another pot to grow a new plant. Not sure why I keep doing that. So far none have died.

I was potting up some cuttings today and decided to put these guys in a bigger pot. Three yellow leaves now.
