Quartz is almost the price of granite. If you like marble look, I'd go formica marble look (it looks great!). But, you just can't put a hot, hot plate on it. This is formica...very nice...

Most of the well known quartz companies make a good product. Mine are made by LG and I love them. LG Viatera Minuet and LG Viatera Rococo are two popular "marble look" quartz, but there are many more by other reputable companies. My countertops are LG Viatera White Pearl, which is not a "marble look" but I am very happy with them.

I wouldn't go with laminate because you can't set anything on it and even though they make good faux looks, it's still not the real thing.

I like what Viatera showed above. But I've also heard that some of the veining in the quartz looks weird. You'd need to check it out in person.
