Drapes for sliding glass door

I am not sure how to cover my sliding glass door. Notice how the fireplace is right beside the glass doors. Any suggestions?

I hope you are replacing the rest of the window coverings it's to colourful. Do you really need something on the door?

The walls are not that colorful. I brightened the picture.

The wall color is more like this.

Do your existing drapes close, or are they just for decor since the rods seem too short. If that side of the house is private then maybe just leave the doors without a treatment, or add simple brown or tan bamboo Roman shades for privacy. A vertical painting to the right of the sliding door would enhance that wall:

Different subject: Are the walls remaining the bright yellow? The curtains, at least on my screen don't harmonize well with that yellow. Nor does the floor or fireplace stone.

The existing drapes are stationary panels. The wall color is much more muted in person. We need something on the sliding glass doors for privacy at night.

Brown matchstick shades or fabric roman shades in tan or blue would work. Here are some roman shades on a sliding door:. The screen idea is great, though.

Wow! Still thinking about the wonderful idea of using a screen instead of a window treatment for privacy. There are many artistic screens out there with natural themes. Here's just one in some of your colors:

That is a beautiful painted screen where did you find it?

On Houzz. Just click on "More info" Also do a Google search for "painted folding room dividers." Lots of images will come up. Make sure to measure. This says 15" wide, but that must mean per panel since it looks much, much wider than that.

housegal200 - great find. Love that look for this room too. Price is not bad either for that much screen. Yes, I think it must be 15" per panel. That would make a 4 panel screen extend approx. 60" but less due to the bend. that would be sufficient for a 5' slider door.

Screen sounds like your best option now that I see that the stones wouldn't allow for any drapes. Are you goon to change the window coverings for the window that's right next to the sliders? It would seem like if you need privacy from the sliders, you also need privacy for the huge window right beside.

I think you should repaint your walls to match the center colour of the drapes if you are keeping them. I too have an awkward sliding door and only need to keep the sunshine out while watching tv during the day, which is rare, but happens occasionally. It is super annoying to have the reflection in the tv. I am thinking those 'japanese style' panel blinds will work for me because they pretty much disappear when opened, and they can open in one direction. Not a fan of bamboo or other types of 'roll up', too difficult. Maybe a soft linen colour?

All windows have white wooden blinds on them for privacy. Not the sliding glass doors.

With the elements already there, I think [and you didn't ask, so I 'sorry'] -- you could repeat one time the look of the curtains.... penney's nice? This is almost, and a quick grab:

To me it seems you have enough room to do a curtain that when open pulls back to the right side only. You have enough wall space there.

Walls are actually a very nice color in person. More of a beige with a tint of yellow. It is open concept with tall vaulted ceilings. So will not be changing the color.
