I purchased a Champion brand scarf at Costco in a performance fabric. The fabric is 92% nylon and 8% Spandex. The instructions begin with, "machine wash cold." Fine. The next line says, "Do not wash with nylon fabrics." Huh?

What awful thing will befall this scarf if I throw it into my FL with a load of similar items and one of the other items happens to be nylon?

The scarf was inexpensive. This is not a burning question, but I'm curious because I've never seen this before.
