Whimsical doggie themed media room is done :)
About a year ago, I asked for advice on what to put on my new shelves in my dog-themed media room. This was a room in our winter house that I have to keep the crates in b/c the dogs need to eat in their crates and there's no other space in the house. I wanted to pretty it up because it was a wasted room before, so I had built-ins constructed and then wanted to decorate around the crates.
I decided to embrace the doggy theme, since the crates are there anyway. It was fun to find all the cutesy stuff, esp. since my other decor is pretty formal. It took about a year to find the right stuff, but it is done... and I wanted to share b/c I think it came out cute!
This is the before.
And here it is now.

I had the side table hand-made and painted inspired by M&B
New cabinets. See the crates at the bottom:
The tail wags on that clock as the seconds move. And it's a dogs vs. cats chess set!
I love this little guy in the corner, just big enough for the tray to hold a drink!

artemis_ma my DH loves Sherlock, that's awesome. I'd love to see a chess set based off Sherlock.
This dog/cat chess set really is adorable. It's a little hard to see in the pictures, but the castles are cat scratching posts and a little dog house.

LOL, oldbat2be there is sometimes a bit of dog hair! Esp. thanks to this little one, who has her own very definitive ideas about proper pillow arrangement... which differs from my ideas!
l pinkmountain, yes ottomans. The couch had a chaise at the end by the window and I added two ottomans to make more room for more people to relax/ watch movies in here. I had to buy higher legs to bring them up to the correct height.
I don't think we're likely to ever sell the house, but if we do, someone could always just get cabinet doors made to put in front of where the crates are and then it would be just like a regular entertainment center. But way less fun, of course.
