You might consider starting an email account exclusively for this kind of thing.

If you use Yahoo, get an account with hotmail or google or vice versa. That way, you don't have to sign out of your account to sign in to the "dummy" account.

I have Web of Trust on my computer, to show me whether a website can be trusted. That website got a green light...meaning it can be trusted. Not an absolute guarantee, of course, but I've relied on Web of Trust for many years.
