If this counter surface is quartz..any ideas which one...I love it!!! Nervous about marble...thanks for your input!

I do lots of carrera countertops with white tile backplash. (Also Silstone Lagoon or Caesarstone London Gray). My personal rule of thumb is this:

If you have a polished marble countertop, do matte tile.

If you have a honed countertop, do shiny backsplash (matte is ok too, if you want everything subdued).

Never do a polished countertop with shiny backsplash. It just looks too too too. Ugh.

Can't be sure if this is quartz or not. But Cambria has a new color, Torquay, that looks very similar... http://www.cambriausa.com/collection.cfm/waterstone/torquay

Have you ever seen or worked with Compaq's (quartz) carrera marble?? Also, theres a quartzite called Luce di Luce....do you know anything about this product? Thank you!

Any ideas as to what backsplash would look good with a marble-like quartz? Would a white subway tile be nice? If so, should it be beveled, shiny or matte? (espresso cabs - shaker style)
