Ariel Power Liquid

This Ariel Power Liquid is made in Mexico and is for use on colors and whites. Any experiences using it? I don't see an HE label - suds city? It's the only liquid Ariel that I have found available locally.

I saw this at my local Big Lots. Apparently they are going to carry this and the Mexican Downy regularly now. I love the see through cap design, how novel, but even for $4, I couldn't pull the trigger. I multiplied the amount in the bottle by the recommended dose and it came out to about 15 or 16 loads. On top of that, it smells strangely similar to one of the Tide Simply formulations, which I am not fond of at all.

The smell is definitely strong! I'm not a fan of any of the Tide Simply Clean scents. Blech!! This Ariel doesn't offend me though.

I love the lid! P&G needs to carry that idea over to all of their other detergents. Tide, Cheer, Era, Gain, etc.

Jase are you sure this is Mexican Ariel? I can't see the writing on my phone sorry

@ Mama - Yes, it states right on the back of the bottle that it's made in Mexico. Around here, Big Lots carries it as well as a grocery store called Save-A-Lot. I've also seen it at the Mexican grocery stores here.

I've seen this and a version for colors at my local Mexican supermercado.

I tried this in my he TL and loved it! While not as low-sudsing as Tide he turbo, it wasn't bad at all. It cleaned well, left clothes with a fresh scent that wasn't overpowering. This stuff is very concentrated, so even at $4 for a 34oz bottle, it's about the same price as Tide.

I'm looking for this Ariel besides I want the cap lol

mamap let me know if you can't find any. I can bring/send you some next month.

Cedric, your a dear. I want to check my two Big Lots out both almost 30 minutes from me so hopefully they have this Ariel. I've had liquid Ariel before but it sure wasn't in a jug like this with a clear cap lol. I'll let you know if I find it. Does it smell anything like Ariel powder which I love??

I haven't smelled. If I do, I'll probably buy it. I think I've successfully converted the wife to Persil.

Cedric, what Persil does your wife like? The powder (my fav scent), or the liquid, or the pods?

Enduring, she likes the original scent of Pearls and 2-in-1 liquid. Haven't tried the pods yet. May not just due to price value.

Cedric, I feel the need to encourage you lol...the Persil ProCaps are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! You really should at least get a small bag just for really tragic loads. Besides what's just one more detergent Haha

mamap, 1 more detergent is 4 more than I already need (according to the wife). That's the other thing though. I can't recall ever having a really tragic load.

Mama, did you try Ariel Power Liquid yet? I used it again today and still loving it :)

No Jase I haven't been to Big Lots yet to check it out. Hopefully soon. Glad your loving it. Lol

If Mich was here we could pick his brain about this Ariel.

OK, I was at Big Lots today and had Ariel Liquid in my hand. It smelled very nice and fresh from the bottle.

I almost bought it but then thought...wait it doesn't say "safe for he machines".

So I put it back. Should I have gotten it?

I did pick up the Downy April Fresh in the cardboard carton (I hope the real Down AF scent).

The Spanish Downy "Pureza Silvestre" with the green cap. It's not sweet and flowery but smells more "green" and fresh from the bottle.

    Did I score anything good?

George the Downy in the milk carton is the one before the newest..not the old great one, but for sure better than todays AF. I mix it half and half with Downy free lol and its pleasant. The green lid one I haven't smelled in awhile so I can't remember.

    Thanks Mama.

The little girl on the carton is different than the ones I see on the internet.

The other carton looks like this (little girl with wavy curl down left side of face).

Isn't this one with the hair curl "newer"? (stinkier)

Jase I got the Ariel....OMG..it smells terrific. So clean and fresh. I washed one synthetic hoodie with it and used Downy Free. ..OMG it smells sooo fab. Thank You.

I have a load of synthetic work out clothes of my sons in now and using the Ariel, no FS. They are gonna smell great.

Mama, I never got an answer. How is the suds level? The bottle does not say safe for he machines.

Glad you like it Mama! It's a winner for sure!

George, I have an he TL and I didn't have any issues with suds. It's concentrated, so you just need a little! Give it whirl!

George..its not Turbo for sure but suds wernt a problem for me..my second rinse was crystal clear. I get way more suds from Tide Pur. 4 bucks George and if it doesn't work for you you can always use it to clean the toilet. Lol

I know Mama ($4). I literally had it in my hands and sniffed it too and it DID smell really good.

I just got scared with the lack of "Safe for he washers" logo.

I don't now when I'll get out to Big Lot's but I'll definitely pick it up.

@Jase...when you say a little, are we talking about a Tablespoon or two?

George yes ...I have a full load of bath towels in now with Vanish and 2 T Ariel, its at the very hot wash right now yet although there are more suds than some would be happy with its still not too bad and this factored with towels and very hot water..I'm pleased.

Check out the spout design. Theres no opening around the edges so there's zero spill..you know what I mean when you pour out Liquid detergent or FS and it runs out around the sides...can't happen with this design..its brilliant. .all liquids should have a pour spout like this.

Close up of the very easy to read cap..and I suppose the type of plastic its made from no residue sticks to the sides requiring the cap to be washed

While at Big Lots, I introduced a friend of mine to the Ariel Power Liquid. He loved the scent and bought a bottle. He loves it! This stuff really needs more love around here LOL

Forgot to mention that I have a larger bottle of the Ariel too and it does have the 'he compatible' logo on it. I've tried both bottles and they both are the same suds-wise...low. One is called Power Liquid and the other is Concentrado. Same stuff IMO.

Jase I love this stuff and have collected 6 jugs now just in case it disappears. Low sudsing and heavy soils are no problem for this detergent. I also don't know why more people arnt trying and loving this.. it quickly made it to my favorite list. I gave my son a bottle for his gym clothes he says nothing has ever stripped out the funk like this stuff.

I give it two thumbs up.

Nice to hear you (and your son!) are still loving it Mama! It really is a fabulous detergent. Big Lots doesn't have a shelf tag for this (price stickers instead) so that means it's not a regular item that they will continue to stock. Another store here that sold it, Sav-A-Lot, went out of business. The Mexican markets have it around here, but the price is high.

Hmmm, maybe I should try this next for my mom's laundry???

Give it a shot! It's only $4 at Big Lots! What are you waiting for? GO GO GO! Move it mister!! :P

Ugh! I should have picked this up when I had it in my hands, but it lacked the "safe for he" logo so I put it back on the shelf.

The Big Lots here is now sold out of this Ariel Power Liquid. I have 7 or 8 bottles so I should be good for some time. One thing this really has over Tide is that it freshens better. I love this stuff!

Jase yes I noticed its excellent at removing odors. My eldest son gave me a handful of tee's to wash. He said he can't get the stink out of them and let me tell you they reeked of old body oils. I did a warm prewash than a hot hot hot bath with Ariel liquid. ..almost free of stink. I did a second hot sanitizing bath more Ariel liquid and they smell as fresh as new. Once you remove the source of the odors...the odors are gone lol

I’m a little late to the party, but I just wanted to say that I’ve been using this since the fall of 2016, and love it. To the person that stated how it “strips the funk” out of clothing, you’re not kidding. My ex-girlfriend had some of the stinkiest gym clothes you could ever ask to smell (not by choice). This was the only detergent that could strip out set-in smells.

For those that are worried about the smell being overpowering, it is stronger out of the bottle, than it is on your clothing. Your clothes will not have some goofy, fruit sent. Rather, they will simply smell as though they’ve been washed in a clean, classic laundry detergent.
