Here are some of my inspiration pictures from when I was trying to figure out how to incorporate a shower into a high vaulted room. Many options were eliminated due to three walls having windows and shower plumbing on an exterior wall in New England lost valuable sq footage and dollars.

Here's our bath in progress with a shower in the middle of the room. The shower has three glass sides and faces outside. The plumbing wall is solid surface on one side and decorative tile on the other (yet to be installed).

since the plumbing worked best going the length of the shower, and by code an exterior wall would lose at least six inches inside the shower they added a wall to the left of the doorway to house the shower fixtures.

In my mind orginally that wall was going to be glass and the room ceilings would be a few feet higher than my glass enclousure. Once we decided to place plumbing five feet from the exterior and add a wall it made sense to lower the shower ceilings to a slope with the highest point at nine feet.

Where the paper is is the entrance to the bath room. The wall juts in the middle of the 13 foot long entrance wall.

The shower shower ceiling is three feet lower than room's highest point but you can not tell.

I am sure I am not explaining it right. We basically built an alcove shower instead of an open two sided glass one.

Thanks, roarah and weedmeyer! This was an addition and I was nervous about how it would flow with our 1950s house. We hesitated putting the shower in the middle of the room and I wasn't sure about it being so exposed like that. But I think the trade off is the nice views you'll have while bathing. We're looking into privacy films on the outside of the windows so we don't have to put shades over the glass. Hopefully I'll be able to post a reveal thread by June or so.
