As the cedar fence is unfortunately already painted I would repaint it with a solid stain to match your rust toned fascia/trim color (the raspberry you refer to). DO Not paint the cedar shingle! The shingles are supposed to be dipped in oil stain pre install, but as you didn't do that instead apply oil stain by brush thoroughly to the surface or consider even application by spray method (although very messy and you will need to protect other surfaces). Use a better oil stain like Cabot or Superdeck and go for a natural/clear color here.

I really like the idea too, and have considered red, but then I wonder about the color of the fence. . ?? Thanks for contemplating, I may yet. . . But waiting for more input. If the cabin were red, what do you think about the fence?

I would leave it as is and see how it looks.
