I need help with TV placement and good art work over my fireplace

If you don't plan on keeping the black sofa, you could hang the TV on the wall opposite the french doors. The furniture would need to be smaller pieces (more like love seats and two person sofas, coffee tables w/ vases or stacks of interesting books, lovely rugs would finish out the space.) The fireplace look as it currently is has a slight Victorian feel, not contemporary. I would go so far as to recommend a TV cabinet that can close when you wish to leave the TV out of view. Wicker, pastel tones, floral arrangements or floral fabric, white painted wood, or chalk blue would all complement the room as is. And rather that art work above the fireplace, try a flat vase with a spray of complementary colored flowers and foliage to the furniture you chose. The room will feel warmer and more inviting for family and friends.

Hard to speak of TV placement as we can't see the whole room. It isn't appealing adjacent to the fireplace.

With out seeing the rest of the room for furniture placement, and other artwork through out the house, no on can really help you with nailing down ideas. All answers will have to be general and vague. Loading some other photos would definitely help generate ideas for the space.

I can't place tv on fireplace as the wall above fireplace is concrete and hard to drill, that would have been my first choice. Do you think I should paint the fireplace and wall above to match the room wall color or a darker shade

A professional could drill into the concrete. Anything is possible if the person is capable. In all honesty, above the fireplace does make the most visual sense for ease of view ability throughout the space. If you could find someone who is willing and capable, I would recommend putting the TV above the fireplace and a piece of subtle art on the wall to the left.

If your style is contemporary, start over with the fireplace. It does not fit. Remove it and replace; especially the upper detailing.

perhaps you could paint the legs of the tv table an antique brass hue,like the details you have around the fireplace.
And as for the artwork, I would prefer something with aqua hues with abstract theme,to create a relaxing vibe

It appears you have some nice trim work with your windows and doors going outside . You could think about doing a built in beside the fireplace with similar trim and put the tv in it.

Please not above fireplace....but to the left of fireplace with a custom built in cabinet would be really nice....or to the left of the built in hutch on a low console 25 per cent wider than our TV. Here are some idea photos.

Lovely wall built ins.....you could redo the fireplace mantle and overmantle to rock or stone.
