I would use solar shades and roll them up when they are not needed that way you still get to see outside even on really sunny days, then add some drapery panels to the patio door for a bit of cozy in the evenings

We usually only use a liner if privacy is a concern or if complete blackout is desired. If you just need to block light, go with a tighter weave of fabric.

The other option would be to go with a two-on-one application. Depending on the brand, you can get a system where the woven shade moves independently from the liner. Then, you can only lower the liner as needed.

You need to be mindful of the woven fading with that much sun so a liner could serve a useful purpose from that perspective. I have had that problem. Mainly because I left them in one position too long. So, if you will move them in different spots each day, no liner, if that is a concern, do a liner.

Our sunroom has west facing sun and we just put up woven shades without the liner. It's a perfect blend of some sunlight but it's diffused so there is no problem with any glare. The liners give the woven shades a much different look. I prefer without, more airy. I went back and forth as well.
