Prep Sink Placement

Thanks to everyone for the great help so far in planning our kitchen. One question that has come up is the placement of our prep sink. The recommendation from the forum was to put in location A in the drawing. But, the KD suggests putting it at location B . Reasoning that it should be as far as possible from the other sink. Our thought was that location B interferes with a landing area taking out items from the fridge.

I guess we could split the difference and put it one cabinet in from the top of the island instead of one cabinet in from the bottom.

I've never had a prep sink before so any comments are appreciated.

A . I agree with your landing area But my research has also shown it's very important to have working counter on both sides of the sink.

Location A. Location B isn't convenient to the trash pull-out, trying to prep right in front of the fridge door means you're blocking it while other people in the household are trying to get in and out, and it's steps instead of an easy spin to the range

In A you'll be in reach of the utensil drawer and trash without having to move. It's not in a high traffic area.

Though I can see the reasoning in theory. The sinks are in different work zones and have different primary functions.

Argh! Old post! In case someone reads it later, I'll leave my viewpoint instead of deleting the whole thing. Pretty sure OP can't change it, now!

yes, it's an old post but, it's a long process. kitchen is still not finalized. waiting on architect, engineer, plans, permits.

Oh, good! It should let you repost with the new date. I know that, when I'm paying attention, I will pass by posts started a while ago because I'm assuming someone did a search and didn't realize they were responding to an old one.
