Trying to decide on storm door color / type

Hello,
I'm having a new front entry door installed next week. The door has a glass oval on the front and will have two 3/4 sidelights. The sidelights and the frame are white and the door itself will be black.

I'm trying to decide to go with a white storm door or a black storm door... and if I should do full glass or the kind that is full glass but has a small bar across the middle for a roll-up screen on the top half.

Also, does anyone know if it's worth paying the extra for low-e glass in these doors? ($45 up charge)

While I appreciate the functionality of the top half screen, everyday it will interrupt the look of your main door. The oval will have the bar going through the middle, if your door was somehow divided the bar wouldn't be so jarring. Sorry I don't think it will look nice.

I agree - I think we definitely decided on the full glass. Now it's just a matter of White vs Black

If black will work, definitely go with black.

Another firm vote for black. If you used white for the storm door, it would make your new inner door look narrow when viewed from outside.

Thanks - I'll go with black then. I wasn't sure because the sidelights are both white and the door is black.

Looking at my neighbors houses it seems like l may have messed up my order - I should have had the manufacturer paint the sidelights black to match the door and only leave the framing white.

I guess I can always paint it black later.

Just a word of advice. Make sure the manufacturer of the front door allows the installation of a storm door. Some brands advise against such a installation. My Provia door did allow it.

Thanks - it does, I had them build it with the "storm door prep package" and plan to order their brand storm door.
