Ok here is an idea ,the chair would be too much with all those dots so follow the advise of your designer ,do the ottoman all dots ,the chair will somewhat look like this one ,

I couldn't find a chair with that fabric to give you a better idea but I found 2 with a pattern and in my opinion even if the person did a great job on those slipcovers I do think that too much of the good thing sometimes is just that too much

Can't believe I picked a wall color that accentuates the oak smh. And yes I will paint those other walls green. A designer actually designed the walls. I love this help tonight!

yeah the walls are just getting cut off in all the wrong places.... :) If you can get rid of some of the decor that you don't love, or that doesn't work, it will feel bigger and updated. In a space like this, less is more.

Ok I see what you mean with the allover pattern. So maybe the indigo blue with pattern in the interior of the seat like in your example? Would the deep blue polka dot work for the ottoman? It is a tired ottoman and my gal suggested it in a two tone also. I am worried about having a)too many dots b) two different two-toned pieces

Yes don't get carried away with dots after a while they will make you feel dizzy, you could go plain for the side of the ottoman and do a tuffed top for it .

The dots look like a small pattern to me. If this is the case, they won't read as busy as the chairs above.

I have always had an issue with too much stuff. Hack away at it, won't hurt my feelings. I am ready.

Too many things on the wall between kitchen and dining areas. Stuff on top of the cabinets should be taken down....

the wall by the railing needs some fun wall art. :) But the wall end with the light switch might look better with nothing. Feels like it disrupts the flow.

yes the clock stays but those pictures need to be moved to the other wall you have too much going on on that space ,move the clock a bit

The clock can stay, I think it could be raised a little bit though. The hutch could use some paint....not sure what color. Maybe black since the chairs are black? Someone else could chime in here... Are you keeping that piece?

Black would work for the hutch. My mom bought that and she is gone now. I am ready to paint it. Maybe I can photoshop it and see what works?

Hello, coming late into the conversation, but have you considered doing the couch in blue ?

It would look lovely with some green pillows and a lot more child friendly.

Also if I may, the painting above the fire place would stand out better if you were to frame it with a white matt, it would become a real focus point for the space.

I would paint the hutch black to match the chairs.

I have considered a blue couch. The room is so small. Would dark furniture make it even smaller?

My hutch is super traditional in style (I prefer yours), but I was able to tone it down with black paint and antique brass cup pulls. I have since moved the sideboard next to the hutch out of the room (too much furniture). I have also attached a chair suggestion (lots of indigo chairs on Wayfair).

Wow that cinches it I am painting the hutch. My mother bought it for me so I am keeping it, but this suggestion makes me happy!

To paint your hutch, Did you use chalk paint, gel stain, latex????

I would go and buy a set of sheets in the colour you are thinking of for the couch/ chair and cover them with it.

That way no more guessing, you'll know instantly what it would look like!

My painter used a coat of Kilz latex, followed by two coats of paint. He painted the inside of the doors, but we left the rest of the inside the original wood and both my husband and I like the look.

I'm coming in late but I wanted to say I love the colors in your room. Are you going to do the sofa fabric in a slipcover so you can take it off and throw it in the wash? The dot stripe fabric for your chairs is very pretty. Consider leaving the skirts off the furniture to help update it. If the legs aren't great, you can always replace them with new ones. If your dining chairs are black, I would consider painting the hutch black as well. It looks like such a cozy, comfortable space. I think it will look fantastic with just a few changes!

Katinparadise there is fabric called Crypton which you likely see in Drs offices, lounges... but the Kovi company has developed a version that is soft for homes. Even in white! I have touched and am a believer. It repels liquids, food, smells, vomit, etc (all important when grandbabies are here daily) it has maybe 50,000 rubs wear and I am very excited. So I am sticking with white. Thank you so much for appreciating my colors. They make feel good. I am seeing things I need to delete or move and will stick some pics up in a while.

I looked at Crypton. It's a good choice if you're not doing slipcovers. I just did two chairs in Sunbrella. They're light aqua and I have a basset hound that things it's a good idea to itch his face on my chairs! A washcloth and some water and they're back to new! The new performance fabrics are fantastic. I'll be anxious to see your progress!

I have finally started to work on this space again. I have recovered the furniture and love it. I am still scared to paint the hutch but am concerned about blue/black combination of furnishings?

Coming late to the conversation: love the new sofa/chair/ottoman. I would vote to move the clock to the small wall where the mirror is now - the round shape between very square shapes on the kitchen wall bothers me. I also liked the suggestion to frame the painting that was originally over the fireplace. It picked up your colors beautifully. Some pillows and done!

Last thought, on the hutch. Perhaps paint the exterior black, with a contrasting light color inside. You could test the idea with some white poster board propped up back there. Do you have some colorful decorative pieces to highlight?

Another thought- a more radical one. Is the hutch in two pieces? How would you feel about taking the top half off completely and putting a pow/whamo/shazam painting there?

Thanks. The interior of the hutch is glass and mirrors. I put the white in there to calm things down. Lol. I do have other things that can go there. I will try that first to see what you think. I still have the other print but thought the sheep in the snow would be good for transition? I stole it from bedroom so not a purchase.

I love large scale art but DH not so much. Painting wood is a huge compromise for him. Please don’t let me discourage your fan insights!

My China is vintage Lenox and pink. I decided it didn’t work any more.

I would turn your white sofa with the back facing the wall if it fits and have the chair placed on the other side. You can have the nesting tables placed in between the sofa and chair and other one next to chair. I would probably add a colored rug to sync in with your carpet. Colors like in this rug
