Also, I'd be concerned about all those "deeply tufted buttons" as they may be dirt/dust collectors. I don't have any experience with white sofas and young kids, but I imagine it would be okay as long as it can be easily cleaned. Good luck!

Agree with hatetoshop. Animals are worse than kids as far as wear. I have to have leather due to dust allergy. Leather can be damp wiped. Imagine how dirty your cloth upholstery is after you have leather and wipe freq. You will never go back to cloth types again! good luck. Ive had mine for 8 years now and ready to replace but been through alot of kids and pets.

If you want leather get leather not some bonded crap that is not leather in any sense of the work Get cowhide in white and unless the kids get indelible markers it will stand up just like mine did with 3 boys.BTW no sectional spend the money and get sofa 2 chairs and you will love the ability to change the layout of your room

Jennifer - Sectional is from Westelm. I like it because it's interchangeable. I have other pieces also in my basement. I've had it for 3 years now and it's held up pretty well with 3 kids (3-13 yrs old).

You will tire of real leather before it wears out. My son is using our old Navy leather sofa purchased over 20 years ago. One seat has started to split, so we just wrapped it in denim material to cover it up. He doesn't want to let it go.

So now I have a 13 year old honey colored sofa, still looks like new. Just make sure the kids are respectful of the sofa, no feet with shoes on it, no crayoning in that room, you know the drill.

Read carefully what type of leather it is. Even for real leather sometimes they make it so thin it's not worth it. You need full or top grain https://www.octaneseating.com/leather-buying-guide 

Also forgot to mention, you will be paying quite a bit more for a better leather but will be worth it.

Do NOT do it. We had a bonded leather sofa that was off white and even though we really were quite gentle on it even with a cat and 2 young boys? The "leather" flaked off and it looked awful. This is apparently something that happens with bonded leather which I didn't know about until it happened to us. We liked the way it looked? Until it looked crappy. And there is no fixing it once it starts flaking......
