"whites" booster

9 years ago

If you preferred liquid detergents for most things, which "whites" booster would you use? Please.

    I would still use Tide Rescue Pods for whites or Liquid Biz if you only want to use liquids. You can still use a powder booster if you use liquid detergent, you just can't put them together in the dispenser but you probably already knew that.

    Pat I highly recommend Tide bleach boosters, if your using liquid detergent, they used to have unscented ones also, but I don't know if they still do...you have a traditional TL right? You would definitely need 2 boosters....I also really like Biz powder. I would say just order pure sodium percarbonate but water temps would need to be 140F or above as it doesn't have a bleach activator. Pat..I used to love Biz powder and since it has oxygen bleach, surfactants, and enzymes you can use enough for a TL and reduce the detergent...use hot water and if you can let the load soak 30 minutes. Hey do you have any STPP? If you do I'd try Biz powder a reduced dose of lliquid detergent and STPP....WHITE!!!

    Let us know what you decide.

    XOXO

    Todd (aamassther) and I have been getting fantastic results using Vanish Gold. It is available on Amazon, although I got mine in Sweden. It is an easily measured powder, and works equally well with liquid, powder or pods/caps detergent!

    Hi Pat, so pleased your DH is doing better. I, too, am looking for a booster for whites. The Tide for whites rescue pods are good but if you're sensitive to perfumes, like me, it can be too much. Even the Clorox2 booster pods can be bothersome. I found on Amazon, Tide F/G booster pods, ordered a 4 pack bundle, 28 pods per pack. I was so excited to try them. Opened one pack up and OMG! the stench!! A moldy, mildewy, old folks basement yucky putrid odor. As with most pods, I dissolve them before adding to the wash, the powder part never did dissolve. Needless to say they go into the trash. Opened another bag, the odor was still there but not nearly as bad. I was going to suggest you try them, I'm glad I didn't now. If you find something that's not overpowering, please share, and I will do the same.

    @Larsi -- Any particular Vanish Gold? So many versions on Amazon, and the price differential between Vanish Gold for Whites and normal Vanish Gold is quite a bit. Thanks!!

    Cal, not sure if you have Ollie's stores or not but they have the Vanish for $2.99 a jar. Might check there if one is available.

    Beagle why not try the liquid Clorox 2 in the unscented formula. Think it is a green and white bottle.

    Sparky, I have a constant battle with suds in my SQ. I've tried liquid Biz, powder Biz, liquid Clorox2 and they are just too sudsy.The Clorox2 pods produced almost none.

    @Cal...Vanish Gold for whites.

    beaglenc, yes, the Clorox 2 pods are great. Love them. Thank you. And thank you, MamaP0, too. Sorry it took me so long to get back.
