Hyssop Border

I would like to make a little bed (sage, rosemary) with a hyssop (hyssopus officianalis) border. I tried googling the appropriate spacing for hyssop to form a border, but keep finding mixed answers. I want them close enough to form a solid border, but spaced enough to ensure the plants thrive. Anyone have any experience on the matter?

I did this once. I set them about six inches apart and trimmed them as a low hedge around a vegetable garden. They will grow as tall as the sage so may not be a good choice for demarcating a herb bed.
