I could suggest sanding a hidden segment down( preferably the underside of the table) and see if the wood is Cherrywood as it could just be a stain. If the wood is lighter once the stain is removed you could seal it and paint the legs white, this will go well with your TV unit. A Cherry wood top would also go well with white legs if the table is Cherry You could also paint the table a light blue or light grey colour if you are looking for something different.

Should we just change the cushion?? To a gray??

Maybe?? A dark beige or dark gray??
