Good for you for KonMari'ing! On your wall behind the door, I'd recommend a large art piece at scale (maybe a carved wooden screen with texture?) to occupy your visual wall space. If it's at all possible, I'd avoid a coat rail or similar there since clearance appears tight at the foot of the stairs and behind the door swing in that zone, too. Possibly a short, narrow cabinet behind the door swing on the exterior wall for Wellies?

One thing to consider: opposite, on your radiator cover, is there room for a small, tall buffet lamp that could be set on a timer? That way you'd have some more charming, softer light illuminating that zone while you're enjoying evenings in the living room. Cheers!

Thanks to you both. Annette we have thought about built-ins next to stairs, but there is a cost concern as we don't think this is our "forever" house. One thought was a low bench along stairs, though it's not quite deep enough for a Windsor. FairwayStyle we have 19" from door swing to wall and 4'4" from bottom stair tread to the front wall. Will post some ideas would love your takes! F
