Help with the dining room!!! May have picked the wrong wall color.

Originally the room had a lot of wood paneling (all mismatched and weird), and bright yellow paint. We just had most of the paneling painted a dark gray (iron mountain) and had the "good" paneling parts restained to improve the look. We haven't picked out chairs or much else in the room. From the pictures, the chandelier is probably going to go (we were thinking of the arteriors zandoo in brass), the ceiling may become a tin ceiling of some variety( the tiles in the one picture are samples we are considering). We wanted to keep the feel of the original details of the house, so that's why we decided against painting all the wood white like we've seen in pretty much every open house we've been to. But now I think we've gone overboard and when chairs come into the mix, I think we really need some color to make the room pop and not look so gloomy. The teal mirrors in the other picture are just to show what we were originally thinking of a color, but now I'm thinking brighter in the chairs. Something maybe in a white lacquer finish with a coral or turquoise pattern in the seat? We were going to do regular (non-wood as we have too much wood in this room already) side chairs and two larger wings for the ends. The aris side chair looks nice, or a lacquered louis xv chair with some modern upholstery. Help please! What do you think I should do? Should I go with my gut, or is that too much look for a single room and do I need to pull it back/reverse some of the things we have done?
