It's the sound it makes. I can only describe it as a pulsing sound. It will last for 5 or 10 minutes. Sometimes, the range will be off and it won't even start pulsing right away..... though usually the range is still warm ...

I have never heard of that. Why don't you give Kenmore a call and see what they say. I believe they have wifi diagnostic abilities too. Not sure if they have it on cooking appliances but I know they have it on refrigerators.

Are you sure it's not a cooling fan?

The cooling fan is different. It blows right out the front vent. This pulsing will happen when the fan isn't on. I'll call Kenmore,

I did call the repairman. I talked to him on the phone before he was to come out.

. He said with the new induction ranges (mine is less than a year old) manufacturers are installing a second fan (other than the one I hear when the range is on).

He said it sounds like this is what I am hearing, because it only happens if we are using most of the burners and or oven for a long time. Too high of heat is deadly to induction components so this second fan is meant to cool down the unit quicker.

At any rate, the ticket is open and the repairman has asked that I experiment a bit over the next few days and see if I can track the occurrence. I'll update later. Thanks again for the feedback.
