Next are my minis growing in the gardens.

i added this one in late summer. I can't believe how this one has spread!PB was growing in a pot the last two seasons. I divided it last fall and put this small division in the ground as an experiment. Thankfully it's growing because the squirrels devastated the division in the pot this spring, so glad I experimented!

#jealous#adorable..question..pots stay out in the winter?

The pots sleep in my unheated shed. They get put to sleep in the shed slightly damp. This was year three for the oldest, no losses yet! I bring them out when it gets warmer, usually that's April. I also have a Wheee, Rainforest Sunrise, Corkscrew and Sugar and Spice growing pots, they've done fine.

sherry, this is a nice collection of minis! Mini Skirt and Pandora's Box are on my wishlist. Are they difficult?

Stiletto is a good grower in pots or in soil, doubling it's size every year and Little Treasure is one of my small favourites.

This is the smallest one I have...pot is 13x13 cm...

Karin, I haven't had any problems with any of the minis I have. Blue Mouse Ears, Surfer Girl and Cracker Crumbs have increased quickly. I will have to be on the lookout for your L Elfin Fire!

sherry..that's what I was guessing..keeps those tiny little things (and the pots) from freezing solid..they look perfect..

Unfortunately, I lost Giantland Sunny Mouse Ears, Trifecta, Cracker Crumbs, and my Holy Mouse Ears that I've had for years :(.

Pandora's Box and Cherish are doing well in their pot with a heuchera seedling that has overrun the minis....no photo available yet.

It's still too early in the season to take decent pics of the few minis I have. I think I've just about lost Chartreuse Wiggles this year, it's nothing more than a thread of green. I've only got one mini in a pot and she too spends the winter in an unheated shed. It is Cookie Crumbs and she's doing well.

Glad to see some more minis here! Jo, please show me Limey Lisa and Hostanista show me Cookie crumbs later in the season!

I apparently lost my Sparkler. Very unexpectedly, my usual reliable Little Treasure is struggling this year, with mediocre growth instead of the usual robust sprouting. Country Mouse is doing well right in the ground. My Hyuga is doing the best it's ever done since I planted it 2 years ago.

This is Appletini last year. This year, it's twice this size. I am surprised, but delighted. Its potmates Pure Heart and Cracker Crumbs are also outstanding this year. Even little Cameo, who had a very slow start, is showing another couple of pips.

Nice collection of. Minis, Barb! I added a Church Mouse a few weeks ago, I'm a sucker for the ruffled ones. A nice Appletini, that goes on my list!

All the minis posted look great! I only have two, Blue Mouse Ears and Lemon Lime. It's pouring right now so I can't get pictures but later in the season Lemon Lime is not attractive at all - it seems to be a slug magnet. I do like them though.

Thanks Jo. I'm not sure if Silver Threads and Golden Needles is actually a mini but so far it is in my garden. Once you run out of real estate and you still want to add more, minis is the way to go. I think the mouse collection is wonderful because they have such a thick substance that the snails tend to leave them alone and then they are just so darn cute. I was so excited when Mighty Mouse produced three gold eyes this spring. I checked and the gold sport is Midas Mouse. I'm hoping it looks just like blue mouse ears but gold.

Getting gold sports from MMouse IS exciting! I hope you keep snapping photos of it during this growing season. I might just have to get a replacement for Giantland SME. ;-)

Karin, is Jessica Alba a mini? I remember you getting her last season, just wondering.

Here's my mini -bed.

Clockwise from top left: Vanilla Cream, Diamonds Are Forever, Wilde Green Cream, Little Devil, Might Mouse, Rainbow's End, Mini Skirt, Jimmy Cricket, Gemstone, Virginia Reel and Hideout in the middle. Virginia Reel and Hideout are half the size of last year- both took a heavy hit from voles.

Blue Mouse Ears - already with slug damage. I think I need stronger stuff than sluggo, they're becoming immune to it!

all of these are so cute..some of you have so many minis!!..I want more..this BME is almost covered by an epimedium..another hosta that needs to be moved..

Thanks for posting everyone. I love minis! I was going to post some pics of mine but I had severe hail damage and most of them look very battered. Maybe they will be more photogenic later in the season.

Enjoyed seeing all of your minis. My zone is 3b -4 and I have planted many minis but have losses every year. I've lost all the mice family and many others. Most of them have been planted in large barrels, covered with leaves ,sometimes a bag of leaves in late fall. I have no problem with regular size hosta s, having at least 400 cultivars. I need advice on the minis.

I can't give advice on your zone but in my 6b zone, I have my minis in small troughs and I put them in an unheated shed in late fall and then pull them out in April when it warms up. I have had few losses.

I'm in 5a way west of Chicago. I haven't lost any in the ground here. I do what barb does, the potted ones go in my unheated shed.

So do you think transplanting them into pots in the fall and placing them in a UN heated cabin or shed would preserve them? They would still get very cold but would not be subjected to rain or frsszing post rain.

Jessica Alba is not a mini, looks like it is compared with BME. It will be bigger one day, at least I hope so. I was just happy that she came back at all after our hard winter (we had an unusual period of frost). I've seen pictures that put her in the region of a good small one...

Fayemo, I'm not really sure what would work for you. My first thought would be to have them established in a pot well before winter. Maybe some experimentation with different methods should be tried. I don't remember seeing posts from gardeners in your zone on this forum in the past, so anything I suggest is still guess work on my part. hopefully someone else will chime in with dome ideas for you!
