This room is 8 foot wide by 5 foot long.

Do you need more pantry space? More mudroom space? Enlarge adjacent space (Remove one or more walls to open it up)?

As of right now, there is no pantry. So adding in a pantry is a must! We could open up one or both walls but then our pantry mud room would be in the same space as the kitchen, without a divider. I thought about adding in a sliding barn door?

What did you have in mind when you decided to eliminate your laundry room? Are you sure adding a pantry is worth huddling in the garage with your wash? Maybe you could just move the water heater out and turn one wall into well-designed pantry...

Not moving the laundry out is still an option. Should I be concerned about moisture ruining my pantry items? Moving the laundry to the garage wouldn't be too inconvenient as it would only move 10 feet from the room to the garage right beside it.

Where do you live? If you are in a cold climate moving your laundry room to the garage means doing laundry in the cold and you might need to worry about freezing pipes (unless you have a heated garage). I didn't see pictures of the laundry area as it is but what if you left one side of the room for laundry and the other put shelves to store pantry items

Does your garage have an ac/heater? I would hate to have to do laundry when it's super hot or cold outside.. I've had to do that before. Haha

You must deal with the possibility of frozen pipes if you live in a cold climate. Can you purchase a stackable washer and dryer and use the remaining space for a pantry? It looks like you have space beside the water heater right now you can use. Can you add a pantry cabinet in your kitchen. Can you post pics of the whole space?

I live in FL, so the heat is the only real issue. Hopefully this picture of the other side of the room works? The kitchen is rather small. And all of the cabinets are currently being used to hold kitchen appliances, Tupperware, pots and pans and etc. A pantry will definitely be going into this space. The issue is should I move the laundry? If I don't move it will the moisture from the laundry ruin pantry items? Moving the laundry wouldn't make anything more or less inconvenient. It's just a matter of what I should do with the rest of the space. I could make the whole room a pantry. Or have one half pantry and one half mud room. Or keep one side laundry and the other side pantry?
