We're not in a position to replace, but our front needs some work. We're planning to paint the front door bright red (to match the wrought iron railings. my husband knows me and loves me, so even though he's shy, he chose the red paint for the job when I expected black)

We live in the city, so our porch and stairs are small. I am still patching the holes in the risers, but I'm trying to get excited about painting them.

I think I'd like something bright and cheerful, like cobalt blue or a golden yellow. (we've got 3 kids, the youngest is a toddler, so I may be overdosing on primary colors)

It seems like most examples are single color or a simple pattern. Has anyone seen examples of more playful concrete porches? (I was thinking about painting sunflowers on them, for instance)

...or painting every step a different color... though that might push my husband over the edge. (He did paint a giant tropical island with volcano on the boys' bedroom wall, so he does enjoy a bit of silliness)
