No mirror over the sofa.

A counter depth fridge or a cubby for a deeper fridge. Don't try to fit a deep fridge into a counter depth slot.

A rug for the living area....at least 8 x 10.

I think you need to spend some time looking at pictures of kitchens and start collecting those that catch you eye. You don't have much yet in your Houzz idea books, so keep looking. Also look on Pinterest, This Old House and some home decor sites like Home Bunch and House of Turquoise - both of these last two have mostly white kitchens, so search on sites for stained cabinets too. If you like earth tones, consider search words like "stained cabinets" "wood cabinets" and add the style you like - for example: traditional / transitional / rustic / farmhouse - whatever you think may be your style.

There is no right or wrong answer to the cabinet color you chose - it is your home and should reflect your likes and style.

Thank you for the websites. All I do is look on houzz and pinterest and think I got myself overwhelmed. I love all of the white kitchens and think I want to lighten up my next house. I guess I will have to update my couch and accessories as well :) Leelee thanks.. always hated those curtains like that. Will not happen in my next house. Was trying to warm up the windows and it didn't work. Will also take into consideration your other suggestions. Had a beautiful area rug but my pup ate it along with the leg of my coffee table. Was waiting to redecorate when we move!!!
