I like wing chairs with Chesterfield sofas. Your choice is not quite as traditional as most, so I would pair it with leather. This chair, from Grandin Road, has a great look, comes in 9 colors and the price is decent.

It's useful to have extra seating, but room size, furniture placement and type of chairs would depend on what you already have to consider and your taste. When choosing, consider their height as they shouldn't be higher than the couch and I would suggest going with white/clean lined chairs and adding a graphic rolled pillow in white/navy on each.

What are the other colors in that room? What do you like? Navy blue is a relatively easy color. It goes well with black, white, most other blues, grey, brown and beige. But also with bright colors such as pink, yellow and lime green.

Since your couch is in one color, you can allow for a print in the chairs IF the environment isn't full of print already. Any print you like? Floral? Animal? Graphic?

It's fun to find matching pillows for the couch and/or a rug that either restfully matches or gayly liven things up. And yes, all examples given will fit in a room that must have a formal display. There are 'merry' accessories that do not break that line of thought.

At Maria privat: the colors in that room are kilim beige and static white and with dark brown hardwood floor. It doesn't has to be the navy blue sofa. I can get another color too but I definitely want the modern style. I was grown up in Europe and I always lived in modern style houses. That's why I prefer this style. The formal living room is empty right now. I have moved into a new house few weeks ago. I like animal prints.

In dining room, I might move the chandelier (and change the style - consider brass if you go with a coffee table with some brass per 2nd picture) over closer to the back wall, to provide more space for your living room per last picture. You could add a console with a mirror between the two windows. Add large art on the back wall and in living room. Consider classic/simple roman blinds on all of the windows (see below). I would suggest painting the room (top and bottom of walls) the same color - maybe a soft creamy white for a more modern feel which will make your couch pop. The set up in the top left diagram below would suit your living room - you could reverse the two chairs and couch if you liked it better. Add a small table at the middle window between the chairs or a console behind the couch. Keep an idea book and do an on line room planner which will all really help. Enjoy your new home.

Not sure if you have bedding yet, as that should be your first purchase as it sets the stage and then look for drapery that compliments. Given the weathered wood finish, slated headboard and blue lamp, I would lean towards a natural and light feel to the room, using natural fibers like linen and cotton and layer your bedding, using white, grey and shades of blue and any of those colors would suit in regards to beautiful linen drapery.

You could use any of the colors in the examples above or white or there are some that have a different color lower panel per below for a more custom look. Panels should have a combined width that is 2 to 2½ times the width of the window. Would suggest layering your bed for more of a lux feel - pull up your comforter and then turn down at pillows and you could two large shams behind your pillows (we keep ours on every night, so not a nuisance) and then if you don't mind extra pillows, add two more in front.

With the darker colored couch, I would go with airy and light tables and marble/metal combinations always bring a sophistication to a room per picture below. Suggest mixing and matching, vs a set. To help, I Googled navy velvet couches and link is below....it should help you more than one off suggestions. Look at rooms you love and take note of the tables and how room is accessorized..might as well have a clear vision, vs making mistakes and having to return things. So exciting and good luck.

Ok now I need some suggestions which table I should buy. I just want to remind you that formal dining and living are in the same room, not separate. Maybe I should also make sure that the dining table set I will buy soon should match to the coffee table right?

I really like the 3rd choice, just consider its size in relation to your couch and if adding additional chairs. In regards to your dining set, I wouldn't match to the coffee table but use your couch as your jumping off point. You could go a touch rustic/glam and chairs with nail heads are a nice look if going with upholstered chairs.

It's nice table, but I would only purchase on line if you can return...just in case.

Read the reviews on the table. They are saying that the color is much lighter than pictured - it is more yellow.
