Thank you! I had to paint the bottom cabinets white because of the way our counter was set in, so I wouldn't be able to change those.

Paint the uppers in the same white. Get new hardware that is not black.

My new favorite is navy lowers with white uppers. You could used brushed nickel hardware. I think it would look amazing with your countertop and backsplash.

of the reasons why: When using two colors for cabinets, the lighter color should always be the upper cabinets - otherwise the room will look short and squatty. So since you have white on the bottom you can't put a color on the top. Search Houzz pics -
I would be shocked if you find any two tone cabinets where the white is on the bottom. Second reason- you have a beautiful and unique backsplash. It will be much better showcased by all white cabinets. As will your counters which are also lovely. And I agree that a change of hardware would be a plus. Let your backsplash be the star - and that's best accompanied by having everything else quieter.

I forgot the other reason: if you paint the uppers blue, your soffit will look like a white racing stripe around the top of the kitchen. Your room will look taller if the uppers and the soffits are the same color :).

Thank you for these great ideas! I agree the backsplash is the star so for now will paint the uppers white and then wait and see if I can summon the energy to repaint the lowers navy- which would look so cool!

I'll have to spray the hinges since I haven't been able to find any hinges that work on this cabinet, but yeah, something in the gold tone would be gorgeous, particularly on the navy.
