Backsplash help! 4x12 too big?

Hi all I'm in the final stages of a kitchen remodel and my last decision is picking the right backsplash. I'm leaning towards something a little different than 3x6 white subway tiles but not as extreme as a color or mosaic. Do you think the 4x12 weather gray tiles are too big?

These are from Home Depot and I could do my whole backsplash for about $100. I found 4x8.5 tiles at my local tile supplier which I think I like better but it would be $500 to do the backsplash. I could spend the extra money but just not sure it's worth it for something so similar.

Ended up going with the original weather grey tiles but found them in a 3x12 instead of the 4x12 and happy with how it turned out, thanks everyone for the help!

Here's a photo of the whole kitchen if that helps, it is not very large and I would go around the window to the ceiling with the tile.

Lastly, here are some other tiles I considered, all are size shown except the middle square looking one is 3x12 as well, that is just the sample size

My fiancé and I did 12" long subway tile for our kitchen's backsplash and loved how it turned out. We wanted a modern touch to an overall classic kitchen.

I love how it looks! I saw go for it. We are also doing the exact same thing by going for the longer subway tile look.

Those are really dull. Put stainless from the top of the stove o the exhaust fan. Paint everything else the wall colour.

Size is fine. Can't tell on my monitor whether your chosen tile really matches the grays of the counter. Counter and cabinets reading as pretty close in tone, so the pure white could give some nice contrast too!

I love the look. You can also do the tile straight ( not like bricks) for a more modern look

Jbtanyderi no exhaust and no paint technically as the kitchen as you see it will have no walls that are not tiled but the walls next to kitchen will be white (sw heron plume)...not a fan of the stainless backsplash but thanks

Acm the countertop is not a true white, def has some gray and taupe hints to it but the cabinets are a pretty true white, I thought I wanted something with more of a contrast but every time I see that look with white counters and cabinets I just don't love it...this is actually my dream kitchen, I've already checked though and the tiles are $38/sqft

Mar Hem thanks! The countertops are Wilson art quartz in the color duomo, it's definitely not a true white but I wanted something soft with no large veining and this fits the bill

I want to pass something along that my tile contractor told me. He said he won't install tile from the big box retailers because they can be different thickness across the same product. I'm sharing this so you can be aware of a possible issue and head it off before it becomes a problem. The contractor told me that manufacturers often make a line of tile for big boxes that's just not the same quality as you'd get in a local retailer.
