cabinet for under kitchen sink

Slowly remodeling kitchen with 1960's cherry cabinets, new stainless appliances and new tile floor. Cabinet under sink (stainless and in good condition) is white metal. What to do?? Know I will not be able to match the old cabinets and need ideas because I cannot replace cabinets and countertop for awhile. Any suggestions?

Donna, ooooh to have a one-piece SS sink and drain board, lucky you. Take the cabinet AND the dishwasher door to an auto-body shop for a new paint job (blue looks good with Cherry) or have them paint both the same "shade of silver".

Could you post a picture - I'm having a hard time understanding why there is a white metal cabinet mixed in with the cherry.

If you like a vintage / country / farmhouse style, you can curtain the sink base cabinet to hide the white:

If you want to be able to easily access the area, look for an easy to move rod system:

I guess I'd leave it for now -- impossible to picture an equivalent thing, especially with the wide drainer spanning cabinet and dishwasher! I'd get a modern faucet, though, with a high neck -- makes a marvel of washing pans!

Another idea is to remove the doors and drawer paint them a lovely color. If Thur are metal they should paint up nice

I don't know how the carpentry would be done for this with a metal cabinet, but if you remove the drawer front (which I assume is a false drawer) and the doors and have a carpenter make a wood piece to match your cabinet like in the picture below and hang the curtain behind like in the picture - could be a sweet vintage look. I am not sure how the top pice would be attached to the cabinet - the left side could be screwed into the cabinet to the left, but not sure about the dishwasher side:
