squealing clothes drier

Hi,
Our clothes drier squeals (the belt I believe) when we first start it up. What is the problem? Is there a way I can stop it?
Thanks,
..... john

May I suggest you include the make and model # of the machine in question. You might get some answers.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry it took so long to get back to you; I've had to deal with a clothes washer repair first. The squealing dryer is a Maytag LDE9206ADE. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks again,

..... john

Several possible sources of squeal. Belt idler pulley. Rear drum support rollers. Worn front drum support slides. Foreign object (coin, hairpin, etc.) caught at edge of drum (front or back). Bad motor bearings.
