Potato Fruit

Has anyone ever tried growing out potato seeds? I have 2 varieties going... Kennebec and Yukon Gold. At least one of them is setting fruit. I know that they are hybrids, and thus any saved seeds will not come back true, but I'm really curious to see what I'd get.

I read that it takes a long time, but I'm not sure how to go about trying to grow potato plants from seeds. Is it better to try and germinate seeds soon after I harvest this crop, and see if I get large enough marbles in the fall to replant next spring? Or... if I should just start them indoors in late winter next year, transplant into the garden, and let them grow a full season?

At the extremely cheap prices my local Farm Coop sells seed potatoes for, as well as there's no knowing how the resulting potatoes would preform and taste, I know it's really not worth the effort, but I'm curious.
