Master ensuite mosaic disaster - need help!!!

Hi,

we are building a house and are at the finishing stage. We have five bathrooms and four of the five have turned out really well. i used inspiration photos for all of them but my master.

Our master en suite is another story. I purchased carerra marble tiles (18 x 18) and a tile mosaic in white and grey for the shower enclosure. I wanted a classic bathroom in marble with a walnut vanity and large free standing tub. We are having a custom vanity made in walnut (the style is below in a picture i found on house. the one we are having made though is walnut and not quite as dark) and have a white free standing tub that will be in front of a large window.

My original thought was to have the mosaic behind the shower controls as a long narrow rectangle. The tile setters advised me that the mosaic was too delicate and it was chipping so we decided to make a rectangle feature on the another wall. I think it looks disastrous.

I need advice on what to do. Should I:

1. remove the mosaic all together and replace the full wall with tile

2. extend the mosaic floor to ceiling to create a more contemporary feeling?

3. Another alternative all together.

This is our first house build and i am struggling with this one.

Any advice from those of you have expertise or a much better design eye than me?

Below is a picture of the current bathroom.

thanks so much in advance.

Catia
