Unfortunately moderate to fast growing shade tree doesn't fit the bill with that type of proximity to the house (unless fastigate or columnar) and the driveway/sidewalk.

The best suggestion I can offer for a tree that grows fast when young but then slows down, has good drought tolerance and won't pose root issues would be Ostrya virginiana. Select Malus cultivars may be another choice.

Will a redbud get big enough to provide the desired shade? They are fast and don't seem destructive here. They also seem to stop growing magically at 25 to 30 feet here.

Any of the Acer rubrum hybrids?

Concrete is not permanent btw. If I had planted my metasequoia 5 feet off my driveway in 2004 I may have needed to prune the trees bit the driveway would still be fine today. 20 years from now (30 years from planting) would it be less fine with the tree there? Most likely. Would it need repaved anyway? Quite possibly.

Does not sound like a good spot for a big shade tree or anything fast growing. I'd look at paperbark maple or large Japanese maple varieties.
