Anyone else experiencing 110+ temps?

I've been having 110+ temperatures this week and a little of the last. It's going to be over 100 degrees for the next few months through August. Does anyone have thoughts on how to deal with these high temperatures? Especially with tomatoes?

We have several weeks of 100+ temps, and they've barely started. Tomatoes and high temperatures? Nothing to do except maybe try to keep them alive. They won't set fruit. If you keep them alive, you might get a fall crop. Best strategy is to do new starts for fall.

If your evening temperatures manage to dip into the 60s, you might have a chance.

As to dealing with high temps in general, you grow stuff that can take the heat, and water well. Down here the season is over in July (but it started in February), though there are a few things that can manage beyond that.

We have had high temps here in az 110 + our are still producing but the tomatoes are smaller. We just keep giving them water.

If the fruit sets is there any damage caused by 100℉?

No, I have lots of fruit that set a month ago, and they're ripening nicely in 100F temperatures.

106 forecast for me today. I have been picking and bringing my tomatoes inside to ripen as soon as they break color. No need to let them cook on the vine.....

While we don't normally get temps that high, high 90's is not unusual for the summer months. I will water my plants, sometimes, twice a day during those hot months. But that leads to discussions where others don't. So it's your call.

Besides keeping the plants alive it helps prevent the tomatoes from splitting following a rain storm which also happens during a heat wave. I water using rain water and dump it in buckets near the plants.
