Opinion on lampshade proportions needed
I inherited a pair of (Romanelli?) lamps from my grandparents. They're old enough that the harps seem to have fused on and I can't remove them. So short of doing some major reworking, I'm limited on the height of replacement shades. Does what I found work? Not wide enough? I probably will repaint the figures at some point (my grandparents painted them matte black decades ago), but I don't think that changes anything about what proportion shade would be best.

It is a linen shade, but I see your point about the shape. As I recall, when I was a kid it had shades like this on it. Not sure I feel the need to be that true to the original style. :)
9 years agolast modified: 9 years agoI don't find the shape or color compliments the base and would suggest textured linen in a deep cream in a square or rectangle. Bring home a few options, as you won't know until you try them - you may be surprised. We have an antique figurine lamp that I never quite liked, but when a black shade per shape below as added, it was an amazing transformation. Size/shape and color are all key.
