It's hard to tell from this one photo. But here's an idea: Place the desk with its narrow end against the wall between the two windows You'll sit on the side of the desk where the sofa is now. Then you'll need to lose the sofa and place bookcases against that wall where the sofa was. I like Billy bookcases from Ikea.

A much belated thanks for this response. I retired the next day, packed up and moved back home to the house in the picture. Didn’t check Houzz again until now. I still may do this. A lizard got into the room and in the sofa so I don’t love it anymore.
