What is eating sunflower?

So days ago i planted 400 feet of sunflowers.now that they are coming out im seeing damage on leaves.looks like birds im not sure.was thinking of spraying neem oil just in case the bugs are eating it.what do u guys think? I planted alot for my dads bees.

i would never spray seedlings of that age.. with anything ...

and as the growth tips are unaffected.. i would hesitate to dream up anything else ..

where are you.. that you are seeding this late ...

i would think you better water soon ...

In Merced California. I have it on drip tape.they are getting plenty of water.thanks for info.

Notice that the bites are triangular. the same shape as a bird's beak.

never, ever, spray until you find the cause. And then use an appropriate material only if needed.

Im going to the ag store.they sell bird reflective tape to scare off those birds :)
