The house itself looks to be Mid-century Modern. The arches are a Moorish touch that does not belong. I would remove all those arches (including the windows in the garage doors) and go for something that relates to the MCM style.

^^^Exactly! Someone bought a modern house and tried to turn it into something else. Definitely get rid of all arches as Nancy proposes. Get modern garage doors - either all glass or all wood. Let me find something for you that leans more modern (see two inspiration pics below).

No lawn in that area next to your garage. Fill it will all type of trees and grasses to minimize view from the street. It will make your home exclusive.

Your home is contemporary. It will always be that because of the angled roof style and window style. It will never be West Indian or Spanish. It's a beautiful home. Learn to embrace it.

So does anyone know what those walls are that protrude from the house? Kneewalls? I would love to see a picture of a home similar to mine, but I'm having trouble finding one! What about cutting all those protruding pieces off (see pic)? If I can't find a way to love the exterior, may just pull the roof off the garage and add a second story, and change the roof on the far right tall column to square it off. Wait til you see the back of the house!

For certain remove the roof fins. The sidewall projections bother me less but if you have the money for it remove them too.

You can change the railing in back for a more West Indies look but the front needs to stay simple. I don't like the scallops atop the patio in back either.

OK, I understand. This design is something seen in the 70's as a desert home design, but the back is something else entirely. Good luck.

You live once. When you are dead and gone, your money stays here - you don't take it with you so enjoy your new property. I would hire an architect to get it right. The property has potential but I'd want to get the most value for my $ and do the major improvement judicially.
