exterior house color?? Help me decide..

We are down to two vinyl shingle siding colors to replace the horrible wooden shingles we have on a vacation home we just bought. Both colors match the stone... excuse the paint job, we let the kids paint on the house.. :) Thanks for taking the poll

Both of those paint colors look way too bold to me....I am concerned they may clash with your stone and look garish.

You have a charming house with really strong lines in the roof, columns and railing. A quieter color would pull it together better. I'd try pulling one color from the stone and matching it - possibly 1-2 shades lighter or darker.

Have you tried one of the websites where you upload a photo and try out various paint colors? I recommend it.

What about a med to dark grey? That would go with the stone, imo. I really like blue but neither of those colors seems like a good choice to me.

However it is your home so, go with your likes and desires.

How about a gray that's the color of the tree bark on the surrounding trees?

Get some color samples of a warm light gray tone like Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter or Abalone. (Hard to select an exact color from photos!) Good luck!
