Summer brings so many awesome things :) It gives us the opportunity to spend time with family and friends, doing great and fun outdoor stuff. Games, grill, swimming, and bunch of others. Let's do this!

Open windows and eating outside (even if the food isn't all cooked outside). Love eating in the backyard with friends and family on beautiful summer evenings. And gardening.

Market gardens; Festivals; Quiet weekends in the city, 'cuz most people at the cottage; Restaurant Patios; Drinks on the balcony; Thunder storms; Rainbows; Best of all...no snow, no ice, no boots, no parkas.

So many delights, but one more special one is napping on the patio swing in the gazebo with chickadees or nuthatches flitting in trees nearby.

Ahh, fresh air with the windows wide open until the humidity comes inside, then a burst of cool air-conditioning. The smell of rain, the chirping of birds, the hydrangea shrubs bursting with flowers. The resurgence of fireflies in the evening, time out to read a couple of good novels, or any book, fishing, boating, lying in the grass and staring at the puffy white clouds, or at nothing at all. Music festivals on lawns, picnics by a lake, discovering small towns and villages. The bounty of summer, farmer's markets brimming with fruits, veggies and herbs, especially if you don't have, or grow anything. Baking, cooking, and canning with produce grown by your own hand, picking warm tomatoes from the vine, cold fruit and vegetable soups, ice pops, ice sickles, and ice cream, ice cream and more ICE CREAM! After all of that, I am looking forward to my favorite time of the year, AUTUMN!!!!! Every season has something to offer. HAPPY SUMMER one and all!

If I had a pool it would be on my list-especially swimming at night! However, I couldn't decide on any one item, so they're all up there.

We border BLM woodland, so being out in the cool morning with a cup of coffee and watching the new fawns, baby turkeys and multitude of bird feeder feathered friends is a joyful beginning to the summer day.

Generous vegetable garden, flower garden, cooking veggies & canning/freezing for later use! Being outside in fresh air & sunshine! Air conditioning is a must & a blessing!!

Chillin' on the deck overlooking the garden.

Now that I live on Cape Cod and have an outdoor shower it's a favorite warm weather experience. Nothing like it when you get back from the beach or boating or when you're done working in the yard/garden. We have to shut it down in the off season here so it makes the top if my best of summer at home list.

The first summer on our new place. A porch to drink morning coffee on. The absolute quietness out here. Feeling like a vacation every day because I love my yard so much. The hammock swung dangerously over the creek that is absolutely relaxing. Chickens running around. The occasional bear. The coyotes that sing across the creek when the evening creeps in. Campfires. Cooking with my dutch ovens. O my. the list is endless

I went with air conditioner ugh* lol as everyone else plans holidays during this time, I just sit and watch them come and go as someone has to watch house and whoever is home at the time.

Anything out doors. Even if we don't cook on the grill we still will eat outside to enjoy the weather. I love working in the yard, enjoying the animals, watching my daughter play, and appreciating all of God's creation.

Just being home! No luggage to pack, no travel schedules to keep, no dogs who need boarding; just relaxation, outside or in, newspapers, books, movies, lighting the grill, enjoying a slightly more laid back schedule than the rest of the year. Very rejuvenating!
