I forgot, how big are these quilts, or the better question is, how much to you need for a backing? I have some pieces I could send it that I've bought at estate sales that, I think, would be big enough for a backing. Most are pretty bright, though.

I'm pretty inexperienced at quilting, so I'm not sure what a general amount would be. Some of these fabrics are only 36" wide, by the way. Most are 30's reproduction type.

This one is one I bought specifically for a child's quilt. It's 3.5 yards, 44 inches wide. I'd like to see it used. I may never get to it.

Pretty fabric! I'm doing twin size quilts...they vary in size a little. I usually end up pieces the backing as I don't have pieces big enough. I would appreciate some bigger pieces. Thanks for the offer. I"ll send you an email. I have been posting pics as I get them finished. Moussa always comes in the fall from Africa and takes them back. I love it when I get pictures of the children with the quilt.

I spent several hours today pressing and cutting scraps into 2.5" strips and sewing the strips together in one long strip. Think jelly roll race. Once I double them back, I'm going for 10" blocks and am planning on using Sharon's plan she recently posted.

That isn't being naughty! I think we have ADD so it isn't our fault! With all that fabric, it would be a shame if it didn't get sewn into quilts for the kids. Don't ask me how many different quilts I'm working on at this time. So many that I'm making notes to put in with the pieces so I'll remember what they're for when I return from vacation. Yes, I'm sure it's ADD.

OK, I"ll blame it on ADD. But like you, I forget what I am doing on a quilt if it sits for too long. If I used an official pattern, it would probably help. Hope you can stop by, Sharon, if you are passing this way.

Bev, Not sure if I'll be going that way or not. The only written in ink (hopefully not disappearing ink) plans are going to a cabin in Sevierville TN for a few days, then to Memphis for a couple days and then on to Indiana. A visit to my fav quilt shop and a week in Michigan will be in there somewhere. :-)
