Having a flash back ...

We rented a place by the lake for a week and it included laundry which is great with two kids. Mid week here so I'm doing a few loads and am flashing back to >20 years ago. I had one of these stacking units in my condo in the city. Haven't used a top loader since then wow. I really notice a difference using this machine. I was almost lost how to use it lol.

My Tide Pro for TL came in handy.

1995-1998 we had a Frigidaire unit like this in our condo. At the time, I thought it was so amazing. LOL

Haha I loved mine too. It took no time to wash but forever to dry in these ones today. Clothes looked like they'd been rubbed more then my Miele.

My daughter just put in an offer on a house that will include one of these machines. I've never used one. Is it like using any other top load non HE?

I hate stackable top loading machines. Less capacity and poor performance. My aunt currently has a Maytag Dependable Care top load and dryer at her summer home. It's a decent machine and can knock out loads quickly, but it doesn't wash like the Duet. Plus the hot water heater drains almost instantly.

I had one of these in my house. It was fine for the time. It was before the nice front loading stacking.

Fun! Thanks for sharing. I'm sure your Tide pro worked well. We're also at a vacation rental this week (in BC though) and have a similar stackable set w/d. Only ours is a Whirlpool "thin twin-heavy duty" labeled set, and I *think* a tad older then yours in the pic above. I'm thinking ours was made in maybe the early 90's because it has the chrome trim lol-totally could be off though. It's in great shape. Probably rarely used. I've enjoyed using the set this week. It's got the cutest little "chug-chug" agitation action! It doesn't clean as well as my SQ TL at home, but does an alright job. I've been using Tide w/downy HE turbo pods and 1 is just the right amount in such a compact machine. If I think of it, I'll take a picture tomorrow and post it. Too dark/not very good lighting this evening to take it now. I hope you enjoyed your holiday livebetter!

Yes it's like any other TL IMO.

It did just fine. Was just odd using one after all these years. I couldn't get over how quick the wash was. Definitely not the hottest water.

Yes, the blessing is that the washes aren't very long so the clothes that wedged get under the fins don't get abused for very long.

@livebetter - the level of suds in your photo is what I remember with a top loader. Haven't seen anywhere near that with my pod dosing, even with 2 pods. Must be a liquid vs powder thing.

That was my Tide Professional powder for TL machines. Worked well in there.
