And the stone takes its rightful place as the STAR. Stunning. Lovely pendant, too, and all together you have a beautiful kitchen!

I love the clean lines and THAT BACKSPLASH - can you tell us more and take a close up of the backsplash?

@nightowl, the backsplash is clear tempered glass back printed with a silver metallic. I'm attaching some closer shots but it's really difficult to get a good photo because it's so reflective. It's one solid sheet for each wall, and the covers for the outlets/plugs are also back printed glass. I had a hard time finding a place here to do it, and it was a little pricier than tile, but I love the clean look and the fact that it just takes a quick swipe with windex to clean it. This company actually prints on the back of the glass, as opposed to painting. Supposedly it's more durable. Imagio has been a great company to work with, actually recommended to me by mobuddy, another Houzz member. They really worked with us to make it exactly how we wanted it.

As bp said, the stone is the star of the kitchen as it should be since it's stunning. The rest of the kitchen is just beautiful with its clean lines.

Thank you. If I do another kitchen, I am hoping it will be contemporary like yours. That backsplash is perfect for your choices.

I love glass backsplashes too! Your kitchen is beautiful. The countertop is perfection. Congratulations!

Thanks everyone. I agonized over the counter, back and forth about whether it was too much. Although I didn't come here until the layout was finalized and the cabinets decided on, I got so many great ideas here, such as induction, which wasn't on my radar, the glass backsplash, going to see the actual slabs of quartz(what a huge difference looking at the whole thing!), info about sinks, etc. Thanks to everyone for helping me end up so happy with my kitchen!

Were you there for the templating? And did you agonize over how to direct the piece to the right of the range? I would! It looks great.

    Palimpsest, yes, exactly!

Bpathome, for the counter? I wasn't there for the templating, but they did it by computer and then sent me photos to approve. Their computer tells them the best way to lay it out and they didn't even ask me about that. It was just done that way in the photo and I thought it looked good. I didn't even think about that, so glad it turned out fine

I had hardware-less uppers. I only opened them with a paper towel in my hand.

Everything looks wonderful. Are you happy with Candlelight? They look great.

Hi Lisa, yes, we had some issues with the doors for several cabinets, but as soon as our contractor called the rep, he cane right over and assured me that he had already ordered new ones. Mistakes happen, and in my opinion, it's how the company deals with it that's important. The company had him taking all kinds of photos of the cabinets and inspected by stickers so that their quality control could try to correct the issue for future customers. They seem to be very sturdy and well made, as well as nice looking.

    Hi Sue,

First of all - Fabulous kitchen!!!

Can you tell me approximately what was the per sq. f. cost of your backslash? And what kind of shipping cost? If you prefer you can email me direct. This is exactly what i want in my kitchen.

I also noticed your slab door. Do you know what kind of wood veneer is it? Is it birch?

    Sue 430 thanked nhb_6 ( she/her)

@Cheryl Hewitt, I had a very hard time finding someone to do it here. The first place we tried were supposed to be getting a quote and then just blew the contractor off, we were lucky to find another place.

@nhb_6, thank you! I'm not getting an option to message you. I'm not sure of the price per sq ft, as the price was quoted to me as upcharge over the tile backsplash that my contractor had factored in. I am guessing that it was about $80. It will depend also on how many cutouts they have to do. I had 7 outlets. Also they made the outlet covers and there was an additional charge for that. There was no shipping cost, as the fabricators were local and also installed it. They were super perfectionist and by the time we got done, 2 of the 3 partners had been out to see it and also the designer. I also made a mistake on the cabinets, they aren't stockholm, they're harmony. I don't remember the wood type. I know that I was told, but that was my husband's area and I didn't really pay attention. Sorry to not be more help!

Sue, I have been waiting for your reveal! I really like it all. The countertops are so pretty. I am so glad I was able to make a recommendation for the backslash (beautiful!) Congrats on your new space. May you have many wonderful meals prepared in it!

I love your kitchen sink area with the neat windows and herb pots! well, and the entire rest of your kitchen too, for that matter.

Did you have any issue with your Samsung range side-edges fitting over your countertop? I've read in other threads of people having a big enough gap below the range glass edges that they were worried about gunk collecting there.

    cheers

@mtnfever, thank you! We didn't have any trouble with the range fitting at all. I think that the height is slightly adjustable. Actually it's good because it actually overlaps onto the counter. I don't have any gaps.

Sue, do you have a peninsula on the other side of the sink run or does it end? Also, could you tell me the dimensions of your kitchen? The size of mine seems about the same.

mobuddy, my kitchen is approximately 12x12. It is kind of horrible to work with because there are 4 doors in there, I would have liked a longer counter but since 2 doors are perpendicular and the other 2 are also perpendicular, closing any door off wouldn't help because I couldn't close the other off. One goes to the dining, one to the sunroom (only entrance from inside the house), one goes in tv room, one goes to the basement (only door going there) The contractor even looked at trying to move the basement door into the tv room, but it would have been impossible without a complete structural change. I can't figure out how to post a video, am not getting a link to send you a private message (don't know if I could post video there) but would be happy to send you an email with the video, it gives you a much better idea of how the kitchen is laid out.

Love! The counter is fantastic, and so is the backsplash. I'm glad you did outlet covers to match the backsplash so they don't detract or distract. I also love the simplicity of the pendant. Can you let us know the source or make of the pendant? thanks!

WOW! Gorgeous space. To be honest, I'm not a fan of slab cabinets but your kitchen looks amazing. I'd be on cloud nine if this was my new space!! And that counter - what a show stopper! You picked the perfect backsplash too. It compliments the stone perfectly!! Enjoy your new space!

Thanks chicagoans, we chose the pendant because of the simplicity. We bought it from a lighting store in Livonia mi, Brose Electric. It's Kichler and probably the only thing in the remodel that was reasonably priced

What a beautiful kitchen! Yes, your counter top is just stunning, and the Star, but that backsplash wins Best Supporting Actor! Contemporary and clean lines not my thing, but everything in your kitchen is just superbly chosen – your cabinets do not fall back from the counter tops – they complement one another.
