Difference between full and partial sun?

Hi all. I'm planning on starting a full reno (well, partial as I'm only re-doing about 2/3 of my lawn this year) starting in the coming weeks (I live in eastern MA). A local nursery has a few different seed options, one for full sun, one for less sun and one for "mixed conditions. What I'm wondering is what constitutes full sun vs. partial. I will be seeding the side lawn which is in the sun pretty much all day and the backyard, which, during the late summer/fall is in full sun from about 10 am - 3 pm. Then the back starts slowly going into the shade due to a number of tall pine trees. Here are the different seed mixes:

Mass Turf Sun & Shade, Best all-purpose seed

  • 25% Brooklawn Kentucky Bluegrass
  • 35% Boreal Creeping Red Fescue
  • 40% Allaire II Perennial Ryegrass*

Pro Turf Full Sun, Best looking dark green turf grass

  • 25% Brooklawn Kentucky Bluegrass
  • 20% Bonaire Kentucky Bluegrass
  • 20% Boreal Creeping Red Fescue
  • 35% Allaire II Perennial Ryegrass*

Pro Turf Shady Shade, Best mix for shady areas

  • 35% Boreal Creeping Red Fescue
  • 35% Allaire II Perennial Ryegrass*
  • 15% Brooklawn Kentucky Bluegrass
  • 15% Dawson Creeping Red Fescue
