the balance is off, the heavy mirror and table are too much for the small wall, and the shelves over the sofa are too small and high. I see now that is where you are hiding the tv, so have you tried facing the sofa toward that wall floating, so it faces the tv?

I would suggest placing a large art work above the sofa. Open shelves will look better over the console table.

here tv is in that mirror over the console.

Agree with art work over the sofa instead of shelves. Art work can be about 3/4 the sofa's width and hung 6" to 8" abobe the sofa.

If you're keeping the mirror in the LR, then I'd get rid of the one in the DR -- anyway, nobody wants to watch themselves eat. A good spot to bring some color and personality -- maybe look for something that pulls in the blue from the pillows in the adjoining space.

Kayla, your space is really nice. Like the vibe. You really need to remove those shelves and get a large piece of artwork - it would look fantastic and you would not feel the barrenness like it is now.

Consider adding drapery panels on your window. They fill some wall space and add the cozy factor. Go with a light color or dark and light print.

Start in the dining space and remove the twigs and mirror. Put art is the mirror's place. In the living area, remove both mirrors in favor of art you love. Take your time shopping for it, and consider local art schools or university art departments if you have any near you. We actually need to see a photo taken from the sofa location toward the opposite wall to make valid suggestions. Use the shelves in the laundry room.

What's opposite the sofa? Can you post a pic? I'd move one or both of the mirrors.

you guys look at the mirror its actually a cabinet for the tv.........

Your room has a comfortable feel, nicely done! I agree with removing the shelves above the sofa and put one large piece of wall art. I think a canvas print with the colors - blue, cream and whatever accent color you'd like to bring in.

One minor thing... I would eliminate the tiny items cluttering the top of your TV cabinet.

I like the twigs in the dining room. In place of the mirror, you could consider a gallery of family photos with art intermingled.

    Good luck!

Hi guys! Thanks for all of the great advice. Sorry I've been delayed at responding. It's been a busy week. Our upstairs is fairly small and dark. I thought adding mirrors would create some what of a window effect. I've attached a photo of what the opposite of our living room looks like. I really like the bottom artwork photo ACM posted, where did you find that? I think I will take your advice and put a large piece of artwork by the dining room table, move the shelves where the mirror tv cabinet and the TV in our sunroom, opposite of our dining room, and maybe move the large mirror in the dining room behind the couch, or do you think a piece of artwork would go better there too?

Try the dining room mirror above the sofa. Consolidating the mirrors to the living area might help. Then add teal art in the dining area. The art pictured is from Crate & Barrel and Overstock.

this all makes so much more sense now lol!

I would move the couch forward off the wall the rug as well a bit. Add a sofa table be hind it and then put art above that.

I like your arm char but it looks good only from the one angle, floating a chair facing the window would be nice.

The darker curtain balance things out a bit I would say no more mirrors.
