Is there any saving these pluot 4-in-1 hybrid and peach/nectarine 4-in-1 hybrid trees? I planted them last year the same time I planted some citrus and guava trees. Despite living in zone 8A and planting them outside in the ground the guavas survived the winter and are thriving, the citrus is doing pretty good but not quite as good and the trees that are actually supposed to grow here look dead.

They leafed out fine but but as the spring wore on they began losing leaves and now they appear essentially dead. I didn't do anything radically different with these trees. The only difference is there's some dead weeds that I haven't got rid whereas the area with the guavas / citrus is free of dead weeds. The area immediately around the trees is the same though.
